Assembly & Troubleshooting

NUTRI-PRESS NO.1

Operation and assembly

Operating instructions (PDF)

Slot closure: The filling attachment doesn't click into place. I can't get the filling attachment to click into place.

Answer 1 : The problem arises when BPA-free plastic becomes somewhat "dry" due to fruit acid and intensive cleaning, making it difficult to close.

By applying a little cooking oil to the connection points (pin slot + pin juice bowl), everything works smoothly again.

Answer 2: The pressing screw must sit firmly in the holder of the motor unit so that the feed can click into place.
To ensure this, you can turn the press screw slightly to the right after inserting it so that it slides down slightly.

Safety shutdown: Unfortunately, the juicer can no longer be switched on because the upper lid part A can no longer be turned onto part E.
The last piece to push the safety mechanism down is blocked.

Answer 1: The device has a safety shutdown which is automatically activated if the parts are not assembled exactly.
As a result, the device switches off or cannot be operated to avoid injuries.

It is important that the arrow and the lock symbol are exactly aligned for operation.
Please try juicing again and check whether the feeder is possibly delayed,
and therefore the device switches off (arrow/lock symbol no longer match).

Answer 2: By applying a little cooking oil to the connection points (pin slot + pin juice bowl), the closure will work smoothly again.

Motor defective: After we assembled the device according to the instructions, the motor cannot be switched on.

Answer 1: Above the rotary knob, on the top of the motor unit, there is a small button that controls the safety shutdown.
Please confirm this with a toothpick while the device is turned on. Once the motor starts, the functions will not be restricted for the time being.

Answer 3: The pressing screw must sit firmly in the holder of the motor unit so that the feed can engage firmly.
To ensure this, you can turn the press screw slightly to the right after inserting it so that it slides down slightly.

Contact pin too short: The contact pin on the attachment housing is too short.
Therefore, the motor does not make contact and does not rotate.

Answer: The juicer attachment has a pin that activates the safety switch (small black button) on the motor unit.
The pin is pushed out of the juicer when the black slot has been moved to the designated position on the juicer (closed).
Please review the instructions again. For safety reasons, the device can only be activated when correctly assembled.

Filling attachment is difficult to open

Answer: During the pressing process, individual pieces of fruit and vegetables may become slightly stuck inside and press against the attachment.
To loosen the pressure and also to make cleaning easier, it helps to fill the top with water after the pressing process and alternately operate the forward and reverse functions.
Then simply let the water flow out through the juice outlet in forward gear.

Press screw is difficult to remove

Answer: During the pressing process, individual pieces of fruit and vegetables may become slightly stuck inside and press against the attachment.
To loosen the pressure and also to make cleaning easier, it helps to fill the top with water after the pressing process and to alternately operate the forward and reverse functions.
Then simply let the water flow out through the juice outlet in forward gear.

How can cleaning be made easier?

Answer: Due to the pressing process, individual pieces of fruit and vegetables remain inside.
To loosen the juice and also make final cleaning easier, it helps to fill the top with water after the juicing process and alternate between forward and reverse. Then simply let the water drain out through the juice outlet while in forward gear.

The wiper gets stuck - rubber lip slips

If the wiper gets stuck, it is because a rubber lip of the wiper twisted during insertion.

Solution : The rubber lips can be removed.
Sometimes it happens that they slip a little when reinserting or cleaning, which leads to the wiper getting stuck.
These can easily be reinserted correctly.

Questions about the juice

Juice result: I tried juicing pears and apples using the fine sieve. Unfortunately, what came out wasn't juice, but rather mush.

Answer: The juice result depends on the use of the appropriate sieve and on the quality of the material being pressed.
Soft apples or pears, for example, are difficult to squeeze even with a fine sieve.
Since the consistency is already very soft, the organic material simply pushes through the mesh of the sieve.
The fresher the apples, pears or beetroot, the better the juice is when using the fine sieve.
The coarse sieve generally produces juice with more content, similar to a smoothie.
The smooth sieve does not release any juice and is suitable for making sorbet or ice cream from frozen fruit.

Foam formation: Pressing apple juice creates an extremely large amount of foam. Can this be avoided?

Answer: There is a trick to avoid foam when juicing apples:

You can avoid foam formation by first collecting the juice in the juice bowl and then letting it drain away all at once.
To do this, close the drip protection on the outlet (yellow) and when the juice bowl is filled up to the “Max.” mark,
then you open the drip guard again and let the juice flow out all at once.

Shelf life: How long does freshly squeezed apple juice last?

Answer: This depends on several factors: how clean the storage container (bottle) is and how the juice is stored.
The ripeness of the apple also plays a crucial role. Two to three days in the refrigerator is usually no problem.
However, no guarantees are given and the delay may take longer.

Carrot juice: I'd like to primarily produce carrot juice. Is it suitable for this purpose in the long term?
Chunks in the juice? How small should the carrot be cut?

Answer: Yes. Carrot juice works wonderfully.

You can also place the fine sieve over the collecting container so that there are no residues left in the juice.
Only very large carrots need to be cut if they no longer fit into the slot.

Cabbage juice : Can you juice white cabbage or white cabbage with a juicer?
How much juice does a medium white cabbage have?

Answer: You can add white cabbage and juice it without any problems.
Just make sure that you chop the cabbage leaves and stalk into small pieces beforehand, as if you were making a salad, for example.
Since the leaves are very fibrous, they would otherwise clog the outlet.

It is also recommended to alternately add additional pulp to achieve optimal juice results.

If you only want to juice cabbage, leaves, grasses, etc., a slow juicer with a horizontal design might be recommended for you.

Grape juice: Can you also juice grapes with seeds? What happens to the seeds? Are they crushed?
Answer: In principle, grapes can also be juiced with our slow juicer.
However, it is recommended to use grapes without seeds or grapes with soft seeds, as otherwise the degree of wear on the sieve will increase.
If necessary, a new sieve is of course available as a spare part.

Celery leaves: Can you also put celery leaves in the juicer?

Answer: Yes, it's possible. However, please note that fibers from fibrous vegetables such as celery stalks (leaves), chard, fennel, mint, etc., can easily get stuck in the press auger and clog the pulp ejection. Therefore, make sure to cut the pulp into individual pieces (2-3 cm) and alternate between different pulps for best results.

Further questions about the product

Dimensions: What are the dimensions of the device? Height and diameter?
Answer: The product dimensions of the device in ready-to-use condition are as follows: Diameter = 16 cm; Height = 41 cm

Insert size : What size is the slot?
Answer: The slot is oval with a width of 4.5 cm and a depth of 3.5 cm.

Smoothie: How, with which sieve and with which fruits can I make a smoothie?
Answer: Smoothies can be made using the coarse sieve.
Just try the fruits according to your taste, you can't really go wrong. :-)

Rust: The sieve insert has rust. What can I do?
Answer: Rust formation on the sieve insert is actually not possible because the sieve is made of stainless steel.

  • Are you sure this is rust?
  • What kind of fruit did you juice?
  • Is it possible that there are still pieces of fruit hanging in the holes?

For detailed cleaning, the device also comes with a green brush with fine bristles.
Under no circumstances should an abrasive sponge or abrasive cleaning milk be used for cleaning.
